TWAIN

TWAIN is the acronym for "Technology Without An Interesting Name." It is a standard for the application program interface (API) for peripheral devices, such as scanners. The software for reproducing the application program is also called TWAIN. Any preipheral compatible with TWAIN can be controlled by TWAIN compliant applications. EPSON's scanners and digital cameras and input peripherals are all compatible with TWAIN.
